The University of Lincoln’s Professional Development Unit (PDU), part of the Office for Executive Education and Skills, delivers high-impact, sector-responsive learning and development programmes. Working across defence, security, and public service sectors, the PDU plays a central role in advancing workforce capability, supporting the University’s civic mission, and strengthening partnerships with government, military, and industry.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Bid Development and Quality Officer to support the development and delivery of high-quality bids across the defence and security sectors. Reporting to the Bid Development Manager, you will help shape funding proposals that address national priorities, operational needs, and institutional strengths, ensuring bids are compliant, competitive, and aligned with University quality and assurance processes.

This is a varied and engaging role that combines bid coordination, quality oversight, and stakeholder engagement. You will work closely with academic leads, professional service teams, and external partners to prepare and review submissions, coordinate feedback, and support the mobilisation of successful contracts. You will also contribute to horizon scanning, pipeline management, and relationship building with key defence stakeholders, including the Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces, and industry partners.

We are looking for someone with experience in education, training, or work-based learning, and a sound understanding of academic quality frameworks. You should be able to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively, and demonstrate excellent organisational and project management skills. Strong interpersonal abilities and the confidence to liaise with senior stakeholders are essential.

The post requires the ability to gain UK Security Vetting (BPSS) clearance and a willingness to travel occasionally to partner or military sites.

In return, you will join a dynamic, supportive team driving innovation in executive education and professional skills development. The University of Lincoln offers a flexible, inclusive, and forward-thinking working environment where your contribution will help shape the future of defence and security education.
